Poohsticks is defined by wikipedia, that venerable source of all knowledge, as:

a simple game which may be played on any bridge over running water; each player drops a stick on the upstream side of a bridge and the one whose stick first appears on the downstream side is the winner.1

The chaplaincy folks went on a walk last Saturday in the countryside around Oxford. This group of people, being the fun-loving, childhood-having kind of people they are, knew that we couldn’t pass the bridge without a spirited game of Poohsticks.

If intensity of watching for your stick could help the stick along, those sticks would have been flying across the water…

Through great skill and no luck at all, I believe Fiona came out the winner!

and that is just one reason why chaplaincy folks are some of the best and loveliest people with whom to spend your Saturday.
